The midfielders began their campaign as the 16 nominees were cut to 8; while it was semi-finals day for the defenders with the 25 starters now down to 12 remaining.

Cork’s Hannah Looney (56.4%) topped the poll in the midfield category followed by Mayo’s Ava Lambert (49.7%) and Roscommon’s Shauna Fallon (44.6%).
Antrim and Cork have two players each advancing to the semi-finals; while Galway, Mayo, Roscommon and Wexford have one each.
Among the shock eliminations were Tipperary’s Ereena Fryday, Waterford’s Shona Curran, Kilkenny’s Grace Walsh and Offaly’s Sarah Walshe.

Wexford’s Sarah Harding-Kenny (48.8%) topped the poll in the defenders category followed by team mates Ciara Donohue (44.2%) and Sinéad Furlong (43.8%).
Wexford came out top with six qualifiers making the final; ahead of Antrim, Galway and Cork with two each.
Among the shock eliminations were Tipperary’s Mary Ryan, Galway’s Sarah Dervan, Kilkenny’s Davina Tobin and Cork’s Meabh Cahalane.

The midfielders are back in action again today (Thursday 4th November) on twitter with the semi-finals reducing the eight qualifiers to four.
For the defenders, 12 have reached the final and will battle for the six team slots on Friday (5th November).
