Day Two of the 2020 SportsDaz Camogie Team of the Year is over with plenty of surprises and intriguing results as the 48 forwards were cut down to 24.
Cork’s Katrina Mackey topped the poll with 60.8% in her quarter-final followed by Down trio Sarah Louise Graffin, Sorcha McCartan and Niamh Mallon.
Down and Galway came top with four qualifiers for the semi-finals; one ahead of Cork and Wexford.
Armagh, Kilkenny, Meath and Waterford secured two slots into the next rounds; with Kildare and Tipperary also enjoying success.
Among the shock eliminations were Kilkenny duo Anne Dalton and Aoife Doyle; Armagh’s Ciara Donnelly and Galway’s Orlaith McGrath.
The forwards are back in action again on Thursday (4th March) on twitter when the 24 remaining are whittled down to 12.
Keep an eye out on twitter on Wednesday for the midfield quarter-finals (16 become 8) and the defender semi-finals (24 become 12).
