PODCAST: SportsDaz Football (Wednesday, 4th May 2022)

Darren Kelly and Niamh Kindlon present the football magazine show looking at the provincial championships.

Schedule:

  • 0:00 – Latest News inc. Erika O’Shea going to Australia, LIVE championship coverage on TG4
  • 30:20 – Preview – Dublin vs Meath – Leinster Senior Championship
  • 55:00 – Preview – Donegal vs Cavan – Ulster Senior Quarter-Final

Darren and Niamh look at the latest news including Erika O’Shea’s decision to go to Australia and the impact of AFLW on ladies footballers; TG4 announce 14 live games this summer starting with the Leinster Final, Munster’s lack of senior championship promotion compared to Leinster, and the under 14 semis.

The big two collide again this Saturday (7th May) in Parnell Park and we look ahead to the latest instalmen of Dublin and Meath.  Both teams are coming back to full strength and while the stakes mightn’t be as high as potential future meetings, neither team will hold anything back.

And then we head to Ulster for the second senior semi-final on Sunday (1.45pm) in Clones.  Armagh await the winners of Donegal vs Cavan.  The Tir Conaill women will be favourites following their Division 1 league final appearance but can they handle the favourites tag against a Breffni outfit determined to make up for a disappointing spring.
