PODCAST: SportsDaz Football (Wednesday, 6th July 2022)

Darren Kelly and Niamh Kindlon present the magazine show looking at the TG4 All-Ireland championships.

Schedule:

  • 3:10 – Sarah Rowe (Coca-Cola Thank You Fund Ambassador)
  • 21:35 – Latest News
  • 38:30 – Preview – Armagh vs Kerry
  • 1:03:05 – Preview – Meath vs Galway

Collingwood AFLW star Sarah Rowe joins us to talk about her role as a Coca Cola Thank You Fund Ambassador (click HERE).  We also discuss Mayo vs Cork, how difficult it is not to be with the county this year, other LGFA thoughts and the experience of being on ‘Pulling With My Parents.’

Darren and Niamh look at the latest news including the excessive expenses for inter county players as reported in the42.ie, Louth manager Wayne Freeman stepping aside, Westmeath’s relegation back to intermediate following their loss to Cavan, this week’s tie between Monaghan and Waterford, the TG4 senior quarter-finals, and the intermediate and junior semis.

We focus on the two games LIVE on TG4 starting with Armagh against Kerry on Saturday (5pm Tullamore).  The Orchard County have taken a big gamble by not driving on for top spot in Group B and the pressure is on them leading into this Division 2 League Final rematch.  Meanwhile, the Kingdom have been quietly going about their business.

And then attention turns to the second game (7.15pm Tullamore) as All-Ireland champions Meath meet Galway.  Two counties that don’t cross paths often, this is their first championship meeting in 16 years and first competitive clash since 2014.  The Tribeswomen have a good record against the Royals but Meath are a tougher unit now.
