PODCAST: SportsDaz Galway (New Years Eve Special 2021)

Darren Kelly and Killian Whelan take a look back at Galway’s year from their opening league joust against Clare all the way to their All-Ireland Final success over Cork.

We wondered what had Cathal Murray’s charges learned from their 2020 disappointment and how they would react to their league final defeat to Kilkenny.

They already showed flashes of their brilliance and a league semi-final against Cork didn’t disappoint.  And as the championship progressed, the maroon and white came up with the answers including what proved to be an important victory in the group stages in Callan.

We chatted about red cards rescinded, DRAs, how settled was the side becoming and what players stepped up when required.  And Galway providered all the answers including the memorable final quarter as they turned a three-point deficit into an All-Ireland victory, the fourth in their history.

Enjoy listening back to the chats shared by Darren and Killian over the course of four months.  And if you enjoy Galway, or want to listen back to Meath’s stunning journey, then this podcast is just for you.
