PODCAST: SportsDaz Meath (Christmas Special 2021)

Darren Kelly and Niamh Kindlon go back through the year in this three hour special chronicling Meath’s football journey from their opening Division 2 League defeat to Kerry in May, all the way to them shocking the world and winning a first ever All-Ireland senior football title in September.

We reflect on our thoughts at the time with segments taken in order that they aired including:

  • How Meath impressed Niamh during the year
  • The Dual Player saga involving Megan Thynne before the league semi-final against Cavan
  • How the Royal County showed signs they were well able compete early in the year
  • The saga behind Tuam Stadium being an original venue for their All-Ireland semi-final against Cork
  • That come back against Cork (that we didn’t predict though we did tip Meath to win)
  • But we were firmly behind Armagh and Dublin the All-Ireland quarter-final and final and got that one wrong.

Enjoy listening back to the chats shared by Darren and Niamh over the course of four months.  And if you enjoy Meath, or want to listen back to Meath’s stunning journey, then this podcast is just for you.
