PODCAST: The Third Half (Camogie) – Tuesday, 19th July 2022

Darren Kelly and Killian Whelan look back at the Glen Dimplex All-Ireland senior camogie quarter-finals.

Schedule:

  • 0:00 – Latest News/Talking Points
  • 17:40 – Kilkenny 2-24 Dublin 1-11
  • 27:45 – Waterford 3-16 Limerick 1-12

The business end of the camogie championship season is in full swing.  The intermediate semi-finals have moved to Sunday, there’s complaints about the lack of male pundits on social media, Westmeath’s appeal fails, and Offaly and Laois are relegated from their respective tiers.

Kilkenny booked their place in the All-Ireland senior semi-finals following a 16-point victory over Dublin.  Adrian O’Sullivan’s side made a positive start with Niamh Gannon’s goal but 1-11 in 12 minutes put the Cats in control.  Are Kilkenny quietly going about their business?  And what do Dublin need now to build on a solid 2022?

And finally, we look back at Waterford’s first semi-final qualification since 1959.  the Deise created many memorable moments in their 10-point win over Limerick?  But manager Derek Lyons wasn’t happy withe thier second half.  Could the Shannonsiders have done better or did they overachieve to reach this stage?  Either way, stability is key going forward.
