PODCAST: The Third Half (Monday, 24th January 2022)
Darren Kelly and Killian Whelan present the review show this week looking back on all the weekend’s action and focusing in on the Munster Senior Camogie Final.
Schedule:
- Latest News (0:20)
- Review – Scariff/Ogonnelloe 1-8 Drom & Inch 1-7 (AIB Munster Senior Camogie Final)
Since last week’s edition of SportsDaz Camogie was recorded, Galway camogie announced a €250,000 sponsorship agreement with Westerwood Global. Darren and Killian talk about this announcement and what it can mean for camogie, GAA and women’s sport in general.
We also chat about Clanmaurice completing five-in-a-row in Munster Junior, wins for Derrylaughan and Oran in Ulster and Connacht, Ulster camogie’s poor promotion of the Junior quarter-final between Eoghan Rua and Laragh United, and why are St. Rynagh’s playing intermediate following their 9-12 to 0-4 demolition of Celbridge.
Then, we look back at Saturday’s AIB Munster Senior Camogie Final as Mairead Scanlon’s late goal gave Clare’s Scariff/Ogonnelloe victory over Tipperary’s Drom & Inch. Killian feels they have an opportunity in the All-Ireland semi-final but Darren needs more convincing.
- This weeks’ special guest on THE FAIR GREEN is Cork camogie star ASHLING THOMPSON. Available on sportsdaz.ie on Tuesday.
