PODCAST: The Third Half (Tuesday, 17th May 2022)
It’s a football show this week as we look back on some of the big results of the weekend.
Schedule:
- 0:00 – Emer Flaherty (Galway 1-12 Mayo 1-8 – Connacht SFC Final)
- 15:50 – Ger McCarthy (Cork 4-10 Waterford 1-12 – Munster SFC Semi-Final)
- 33:00 – Clare Owens, Hugh Donnelly, Ollie Lennon (Leitrim 1-14 Roscommon 0-14 – Connacht IFC Final)
Darren Kelly was in Tuam Stadium on Sunday to watch the Connacht Finals and was joined after the senior game by Galway 2004 All-Ireland winner Emer Flaherty. They look at Galway’s fourth consecutive provincial title and where do Galway and Mayo go next.
Cork journalist Ger McCarthy was in Dungarvan for the ‘Dawn of a New Era’ in Cork as Shane Ronayne took charge of his first championship game. The Rebelettes hit four goals to remind the country they are still contenders but where does this result leave Waterford leading into the summer?
And finally, we go back to Tuam where Darren gets reaction from the Connacht intermediate final. Leitrim successfully retained the title with Leah Fox’s goal the difference. We hear from Leitrim captain Clare Owens, manager Hugh Donnelly and Roscommon boss Ollie Lennon.
