PODCAST: The Third Half (Tuesday, 28th June 2022)
Darren Kelly and Niamh Kindlon look back at Saturday’s games at MW Hire O’Moore Park, Portlaoise in the TG4 All-Ireland senior football championship.
Schedule:
- 0:00 – Championship Round-Up
- 22:20 – Dublin 1-14 Mayo 0-7
- 43:40 – Cork 2-10 Waterford 1-5
The big names started coming to the front in the TG4 intermediate championship as the semi-finals became known; London shocked Carlow but not enough to reach the final four of the TG4 Junior championship; while Tipperary avoid the relegation play-offs with a win over Cavan.
We look back at Dublin’s win over Mayo in Portlaoise. Jennifer Dunne was superb with a strong supporting cast led by Caoimhe O’Connor. Dublin looked strong and hungry for victory but did Mayo believe they could get a result?
Then it’s Cork against Waterford. Doireann O’Sullivan led the Rebellettes to victory with 1-7 while Libby Coppinger also found the net. But the Deise put it up to them with the wind before drawing a blank in the second half, and ultimately crashed out of the championship.
